This young Moscovian GM is a force to be reckoned with. He has just recently won the 2002 US Open, but this is the least of his fine results. At only 25 years old he is already rated 2585 FIDE and a year ago he was rated 2616 and ranked number 68 in the world! He is primarily a 1.d4 player, but can also switch it up with 1.e4. He prefers the Najdorf defense as black, as is common amongst a lot of the top players these days.
